The project

A mission that deserves
a platform worthy of it.

Healthy Youth Worldwide Foundation operates at the intersection of health, youth empowerment, and global impact. When they came to MOW Designs, their digital presence didn't reflect the scale or ambition of their work. That was the gap we were asked to close.

We built their new platform on WordPress and Elementor — a deliberate choice for a foundation that needed strong CMS capabilities, flexible content management, and a site their team could own and update without ongoing developer dependency.

The design language is clear, warm, and purposeful. Every layout decision supports the primary goals: communicating impact, building donor and partner trust, and driving programme engagement.

The challenge

Non-profit web design
has its own rules.

01

Trust is the primary currency

For a foundation, every design decision either builds or erodes donor and partner trust. Credibility signals, clear programme documentation, and transparent impact reporting had to be woven into the structure, not bolted on.

02

Global audience, local authenticity

HTYF operates globally but is rooted in Africa. The design needed to feel professional to international donors and partners while maintaining authentic connection to the communities it serves.

03

Converting visitors into participants

The site's job isn't just to inform — it's to drive action. Donations, programme enquiries, volunteer sign-ups, and partnership conversations all needed clear, friction-free conversion paths.

04

Sustainable team ownership

Foundations often have limited technical resources. The platform had to be manageable by a small team without ongoing developer involvement for routine content updates.

How we built it

Purpose before pixels.
Structure before style.

01

Mission & audience discovery

Spent time understanding HTYF's programmes, primary audiences (donors, partners, beneficiaries), and the actions the site needed to drive. Structure follows strategy.

02

Information architecture

Mapped all content into a clear hierarchy: who we are, what we do, our impact, how you can help, and how to get in touch. Every page has a single job.

03

Design system & visual language

Developed a warm, trustworthy visual language — clean typography, purposeful use of green (the HTYF brand colour), and imagery guidelines that reflect authentic community engagement.

04

WordPress + Elementor build

Built all templates in Elementor Pro with custom CSS for detail-level refinement. Gravity Forms handles enquiries; GiveWP manages the donation flow with full payment integration.

05

Launch & team handover

Full documentation and team training before launch. The HTYF team manages their blog, programme updates, and team pages independently from day one.

Design principles applied

Clarity over cleverness

Non-profit sites fail when they prioritise design awards over user comprehension. Every layout choice was tested against one question: does this make the mission clearer?

Impact evidence

Numbers, stories, and programme outcomes are prominently featured throughout. Donors don't give to organisations — they give to evidence of change.

Low-friction giving

The donation flow needed to be as frictionless as possible. GiveWP with clear amount options and minimal form fields produces measurably better donation conversion than complex multi-step flows.

The outcome

A platform that earns trust
and drives action.

Reach from day one

HTYF launched with a platform that matches the ambition of their mission. Their team publishes programme updates, impact reports, and team content independently, and the site communicates their work to a global audience of donors, partners, and beneficiaries with the clarity and warmth it deserves.
